Math 6- Measurement of our feet. Complete table on our own feet (Lesson 2.1) by Monday to share information.

Math 7- Complete lesson 4.3 on bike rates and distance covered, should be done on graph paper.

US History- Continue to research on battles of the Civil War. Also readings about proposed compramises to N and S differences.

PE- Circuit Training begins today.

Math 6- Lesson 6.2. This lesson deals with savings percentages that you would see at a store and what those discounts mean.

Math 7- Lesson 2.2 which was about a survey of recreational activities. How does our class compare to the nation?

Science- We updated our Brine Shrimp and wrote about them. We also read and took notes on aquatic environments on pages 27-42.

Math 6-7- Guest speaker today. We have had numerous absences lately due to illness. All 6th graders need to be caught up to lesson 6.1 by tommorow. 7th graders need to be up to lesson 1.3 by tomorrow.

Sciece- We will be doing an experiment on salt water and its affects on Brine Shrimp. We will be hatching them from eggs to see what impact salt content has on their ability to hatch.

PE- Basketball continues.

Math 6- We did 5.3 and worked with dividing up supplies into fractions.

Math 7- We did lesson 1.2 as a group.

Science- Science notebook entry task on aquariums. We will also clean and set-up our 65 gallon tank.

PE- Basketball then Halloween!

Math 6- We did lesson 5.2 and follow-up. This was practice coverting fractions and decimals.

Math 7- Lesson 1.1 and Follow-up in our new book, Comparing and Scaling. Students chose the best medium for and advertisement with numbers.

Science 6,7,8- Aquariums and acid tests were set-up and performed today.

PE- Basketball. First JH game today!!!!!!!!!!

Sciecne- We are going to re-plant terrariums today. We will also be diagraming the root systems.

Math 6- They are working on a mystery number game. They are to find the 10 missing numbers by Monday.

Math 7- Students are working on lesson 5.3, Follow-up, and ACE 9,15,16, all due Monday.

Both math classes have unit tests coming next week.

Science- We finish planting to test water tolerance. Notes on class readings are due Monday. Time was also spent on ecological project.

PE- Basketball Unit Continues.

Math 6- Today we worked on benchmark decimals. Lesson 4.3 and ACE 10-16 and ACE 21-35 are due tomorrow.

Math 7- Today we worked on lesson 5.2 which was a fun lesson figuring the height of tall objects using mirrors and similar triangles. Lesson 5.2 and ACE 5-8, 10 and 11 are due tomorrow. By the way the flagpole near the high school is 10.89 meters tall.

Science- Today we will test the environmental factor of water and its affect on plant growth. We will isolate this factor by water plants 4 different amounts of water and then studying root structure.

PE- Basketball unit continues.

Math 6- Today's assignment was to further break down decimals to other equivilant parts (1/10 is equal to 10/100) Assignment was 4.2, follow-up and ACE 38-41.

Math 7- Using simlar shapes to solve real world problems. We used shadow length of a meter stick in comparison to the shadow of the flagpole and a huge tree on campus to figure the height of those figures. Assignment was 5.1.

Science- We are starting Investigation 3, which is about water tolerences of different seeds. We will be growing 4 plants from seed in 4 different soil moistures. Today we will plant.

PE- Basketball unit continues.

Math 6- We did lesson 3.2 which was sizing up brownie recipes to feed 240 campers. Real life fractions. Lesson 3.2 and follow-up are due Monday.

Math 7- Enlarging similar figures. We did lesson 4.3 and follow-up due Monday.

Science- Check Terrariums. We will also discuss our environmental class project. We are also preparing to set up our beetle and goldfish labs.

PE- We are starting our basketball unit today.

Science- Terrariums are growing!!!! We are learning about the scientific process and environmental factors within the terrariums.

PE- Basketball unit begins today. MS volleyball game tonight at 3:15pm.

Science- Today we are beginning out Science unit entitled Environments. We will begin this unit by building a terrarium and planting a mini-garden.

Math 6- Today 6th graders worked on lesson 2.1 and 2.1 follow-up. They were also assigned ACE 1-5 as homework.

Math 7- Today we worked on finishing the chapter 2 ACE questions. Questions 1-14 are due tomorrow.

History- Science experiments were suppossed to start today. We will start tommorow due to a large amount of students being gone today at the volleyball game. Today we finished up loose ends and watched the 10/7 Presidential debates.

PE- Presidential fitness trials and indoor soccer.

Math 6- Today we will be working on lesson 1.5 which deals with using the symbolic form.
Math 7- 7th graders will continue to learn about similar figures and looking for patterns within those figures.
History- The debates continue. We are also going to go over our recent test and watch the VP debates.
PE- unfortunately we will be in the gym due to weather. We will be doing the Presidents' challenge and playing team handball.

Math 6- Introduce new book, Bits and Pieces I. We are learning about decimals, percents, and fractions. We worked on lesson 1.1, follow-up 1, today about fundraising, due tomorrow.

Math 7- We went over new books, Stretching and Shrinking. We began to learn about similarity in mathematics. We used a drawing activity to test the theory. Lesson 1.1 and ACE 1,5, and 6 are due tomorrow.

Math 6 and Math 7 classes both had unit tests today. Tests will be graded and handed back tomorrow.

Math 6 will be starting a book entitled Bits and Pieces I. This book will look into rational and irrational numbers.

Math 7 will be starting a book entitled Stretching and Shrinking. The concept for this book in Similarity.

Social Studies- Today we did our last in class debate research. All further research on debate topics will need to be done at home.

MS Physical Education- All students are now dressing down each day. Thank you for the support in requiring PE dress down requirements.
